Well that was exactly my point when I referred you to the document "can government save the family" - which you questioned as to what was the point (reply #31277). The point is that the reblicans are embracing using the tax code and other legislation to promote their social agenda which is exactly what they chastise the dems for doing. As an example check out their comcept of a "family wage" in the following piece - this is essentially where they propose paying someone more than the mkt feels they are worth since they are a sole breadwinner for a "family". Also other rhetoric about how the tax code should encourage families blah blah blah in there.
