I really would appreciate a Internet resource to check old stocks. Please let me know as I get a few e-mails a week through our site from people asking for this info.

Until I find one, here are the pointers I give out

for TSE: e-mail to marketdata@tse.com
for VSE: e-mail to postmaster@vse.ca
for the ME:info@adm.me.org

Non-internet means:
For the ASE: You'll have to call them directly at 403-974-7400. Ask for somebody in Public Files. There is a document called "Historical Summary of Listing Changes" that costs $10.50 that tracks all company changes since 1970, but hopefully they can just answer your question.

Another source is a book put out by the Financial Post called "The survey of predecessor and defunct companies" It is available through the Financial post for a whopping $76.95 (1-800-661-7678 - at least the phone call is free!) With any luck, your local library will have a copy or perhaps you can convince the library to buy it.
