A few thoughts...

Today's release is not great. But it was actually better than I expected. The sale of current products has no choice but to slow, with the expectation of the Netscape release. They were lucky the 4Q was held up at .00 eps. with a $47K small profit. This would not have been possible if IBM did not provide Netscape revenues in advance of product ship. They would have reported a loss.

The real deal is what the future impact of Netscape will be. We will probably drift lower from here for a few days.

My guess is enough damage will be done, to slow serious investors until INNI has proven the viability of Netscape. It is unfortunate that they were artificially delayed at shipment, pending the big announce. We missed 1/3 of the 1st quarter of potential sales.

I would expect a little bump up prior to 2/9, then a slow leak after that point until INNI proves:

1. That AS/400 users "buy in" to Netscape running native as oppose to
Netscape running on the NT side of the box(assume popular E model)
2. That those same users will settle for the enterprise server, with
out the directory and certificate servers(to be ported later)
3. That the performance advantage of native can offset the release
lag (higher level more complete Netscape product will run on NT)
4. That its distribution model will be profitable. Currently, INNI
sells most of its product non-domestic through IMS, which
leverages IBM non-domestic sales channels. So, IMS and IBM get
sales cuts.

Expect to see those in at lower levels to take some money off the table, until things settle.
