I too am in Seattle and near Eagle Stores. Eagle did have to sell a couple of stores due to over expansion a while back, but I believe that its back on track. I also believe that it was responsible for causing its competitor Earnst to close its doors. Because its CEO had been CEO of a similar chain Pay 'n Pack that closed down 10 years ago, Eagle is probably more careful than Home Depot and, at least for the North West, knows the market the better. They are head-to-head in several areas in the Seattle Metropolitan area: ie: both have super-stores vertually across the street from one another. The latest war will be in the North Seattle area where Eagle will open another one amost across the street from a Home Depot.

Too bad Eagle isn't in the California area where it is now sorely needed.
