With Compaq now doing over a million$ a day in direct build to order sales, Gateway had little choice but to go with a line of K6-3. As I've stated before, Gateway also wants to get in line for the K7 so what better to do than become a AMD customer now.
If Compaq (already evidence) and Gate start to eat into Dell sales with AMD units then don't be surprised if Dell adds some AMD boxes. The question being, K6-3 or K7. If I had to guess it would be K7 in June or July but that's just a guess.
