I'm not sure that the PhDs did well. The ones I know have not done well....the semi-literate internet weenies made all the money for doing nothing of value. A degree is a handicap. And yes, they're good at cutting down trees and paving open space here, for a downtown that nobody likes and the worst public transit system in the country.
A friend points out that all they have to do is peel up all the cement here some day in the future, and they'll find perfectly preserved farmland underneath the pavement ready to use for something useful.
