CRYO-CELL Renews Exclusive Sponsorship Of The Lamaze 'You And Your Baby' Educational Video CLEARWATER, Fla., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Gerald F. Maass, Executive Vice President and General Manager of CRYO-CELL International, Inc. (Nasdaq: CCEL - news) announced today that the company has extended its sponsorship as the exclusive cord blood storage company on the 1999 Lamaze ''You and Your Baby'' video.
According to Lamaze Publishing Company, Inc., the video will be used by more than 12,000 childbirth educators and will be made available to more than 1.8 million expectant parents. CRYO-CELL also intends to include its video segment on the company's website (www.CRYO-CELL.com).
In addition, CRYO-CELL has purchased a full page ad in every issue of the Lamaze Parent's magazine into the year 2000. Lamaze Parent's has an annual circulation of 2.4 million. CRYO-CELL will also place its ad in ''Revista Lamaze para Padres,'' Lamaze Publishing's magazine for Hispanic parents with an annual circulation of 575,000.
''Our working relationship with Lamaze Publishing has been excellent,'' Mr. Maass stated, ''and our current plans are to extend our right of first refusal well into the 21st century for exclusive category sponsorship of the Lamaze 'You and Your Baby' video. Currently our combined Lamaze programs are accounting for about 40% of our inquiries,'' Mr. Maass stated, ''and are a significant contributor to our growth.''
Over the last three months, inquiries on their 1-800-STOR-CELL number have more than doubled, in fact, during the last five weeks, over 1,000 expectant parents have contacted CRYO-CELL for information about preserving their newborn's U-Cord blood stem cells.
As a result of the expansion of their E-commerce activities, the INFO-MEDICAL being produced for CRYO-CELL has been delayed for approximately 30-45 days. Originally scheduled for viewing in January, company management decided it would enhance the value of its segment by including footage of CRYO-CELL's state-of-the-art processing and storage facilities. International Broadcast Corporation, who is producing the video, will have camera crews in the CRYO-CELL lab within 7-10 days.
The INFO-MEDICAL is expected to reach 50,000,000 viewers. Air time has been reserved for initial market penetration in over 40 cities across the country.
According to Tom Deutsch, Director of Systems Development, segments of the INFO-MEDICAL, which is scheduled to run 28 minutes on television, will also be available on the CRYO-CELL web site.
