"I missed the Amati run, and I may miss the Westell run."

Bill, I've been reading your very informative posts on the Cisco thread.
exchange2000.com

"Alcatel has won ACCESS to 140 million lines in North America"...

exchange2000.com

"Alcatel is the clear winner in DSLAM's and software for those DSLAMS's. Alcatel is partnering with multiple vendors on the remote/customer end. How can you say Cisco is the leader, when Alcatel won BEL{40million lines}, Ameritech{20million lines}, SBC+Pactel {40 million lines}, BellSouth {20 million lines} and Bell Canada {20 million lines}. I've only listed the North American wins. "

You're leagues above them on your understanding of ADSL. Cisco's main thread concept seems to be is how much higher Cisco will go. Clearly you believe that Alcatel is the name to watch in ADSL. That being the case, I would imagine that the partnership Westell announced with Alcatel might make you reconsider Westell's chances. Have you ever thought of reconsidering your decision on Westell and come back where your input is appreciated. I own some Cisco, but at 115 its hard to buy a lot. Although I must say it does at least go up.

All the best,
Michael
