Effective before the open on Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, the shares of
ATI Technologies Inc. and JDS Fitel Inc. will be added to the TSE
100 Index. This addition is in accordance with TSE 100 Index criteria
for inclusion No. 4 which states that when examined at each
month end, any TSE 300 constituent that ranks between No. 1 and No. 50
of the TSE 300 Index on the basis of float QMV, and meets all
other criteria for inclusion, will be added to the TSE 100 Index at
the open of the expiry of the following month's options and
futures contracts and the stock that occupies the lowest TSE 100 Index float QMV ranking will be removed. As of month ending Jan. 31,
1999, both ATI Technologies Inc. and JDS Fitel Inc. ranked above
No. 50 in the TSE 300 Composite Index based on float quoted market
value.Please note the following changes to the TSE 100 Index before
the open on Friday, Feb. 19, 1999:

Stocks to be added:

ATI Technologies Inc. (ATY)
Sector 3 - Industrial

JDS Fitel Inc. (JDS)
Sector 3 - Industrial

Stocks to be removed:

Loewen Group Inc. (LWN)
Sector 2 - Consumer

Extendicare Inc. (EXE.A)
Sector 2 - Consumer

Note: ATI Technologies Inc. (ATY) and JDS Fitel Inc. (JDS) will be removed from and Loewen Group Inc. (LWN) and Extendicare Inc. (EXE.A) will be added to the TSE 200 Index before the open on Friday, Feb. 19, 1999.
