If anyone is here, below is a message that I posted on the Yahoo board:

You need to do more research to get your facts straight.

Compaq has stated publicly that they want to put a minimum of 50% of their direct sales through distribution
and see this % continuing to rise in the future. They are not set up for, nor do they have the interest in fulfilling
the huge amount of small orders generated by their direct sales program. Ingram is a behemoth because they
are the best in the world logistically at delivering technology products to the masses - period. Manufacturer's
are great manufacturer's - not distributors. It's not their expertise hence it's just a matter of time before they
realize the most efficient way for them to run their business is to out-source to one or more international
fulfilment houses (i.e. distributors) so stay tuned for these announcements to come pouring in.

Institutions love to pile lots of money into those organizations that are the worldwide leader in a growing
market. Once all this ridicules "the distribution business is falling apart!" doom & gloom crap comes to an end
the institutional money will definitely flow back into the company and this 'special sale price' unlikely will never
be seen again.

This is a good place for bargain hunters to start accumulating since the $29 - $31 price range offers strong
support.
