A search of the entire Medline index lists 63 citations for Davidson RS and 14 for Hensley CB. Given the disparate subject matter, it's unlikely that all of the Davidson cites belong to Gel Tech's Davidson. The Hensley cites, however, do all seem related. However, none of the citations for either have anything to do with the common cold or anything even close to the common cold.

The researchers mentioned in the very helpful Discover article have been working on ICAM for well over a decade. Other doctors who have worked with these doctors, including the group at UVA, have been working on rhinoviruses and a cure for the common cold for decades.

Can Hensley and Davidson have discovered something that the others have missed? Sure. But that would certainly be surprising.
