Kip, yesterday was another example of uBid tracking eBay. There was no reason for this, but eBay led uBid all over the place yesterday as people continue to tie the two together. Some believe this is good for uBid, some bad. I fall into the latter category, as I think uBid is a much better company. But either way, it demonstrates what you said about people confusing the two even though they have nothing to do with each other but for the fact that they are in the same general sector.

While I am not disappointed with their management of the company in general, I am unhappy with uBid's lack of news or PR to distinguish themselves from their competition. They do not appear to be capable as yet of marketing and branding themselves to set them out from the crowd. I anticipated that they would be doing this with a vengeance after the IPO quiet period was over, but there has been a defeaning silence from the company. They don't seem to have a problem with this, thinking that over time their performance will prove the point. I disagree. Performance is great, but never neglect information and public opinion. Branding on the net is a paramount concern and uBid's stock price, IMO, is a reflection of their willingness to allow the company to be dragged along with eBay or simply be part of the group for the moment. If they thought otherwise, it would seem that they would do something about it.
