Buzz,

I think the STKWINGUY person on AOL was referring to the the forecasted 28% drop in earnings from '96 to '97. First call and Zacks both show similar numbers and you're right - it doesn't include anything for some of the upcoming drilling/surveys. I assume this drop is based on the forecasted drop in oil prices. But, analysts are about as good at estimating oil prices as they are at gold prices, so will CWEI's earnings really go down by 28% from '96 to '97? Probably not. Also, there are LOTS and LOTS of people on AOL's Motley Fools boards that are promoting their own agendas, both long and short. Most of what is on those boards isn't worth reading. This person probably is short and is trying to sway some opinions. He doesn't have to do much to be successful either. With only 7 million shares outstanding and with C.Williams owning so many shares, there aren't that many floating around for the general public.

I've actually been trimming back on some of my CWEI holdings recently. It has little to do with the company's fundamentals...I've enjoyed a great ride up from $3 7/8 and just wanted to take some of it off the table. :)

Steve.
