Intelligent Electronics' Web Site Now Includes Online Ordering
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 3, 1997-- Intelligent Electronics Inc today announced the availability of an online
ordering feature on SmartWeb, the company's industry-leading Web site (http://www.intelect.com).
"Today, our reseller customers can conduct the majority of their business with us through our Web site," said Chief
Operating Officer Tim Cook. "Our reseller customers today are using SmartWeb to substantially reduce their costs of
doing business, and are gaining a competitive advantage as a result," added Cook.
Not only can customers place orders for shipment that day, but they can use SmartWeb for a variety of other daily
business functions. Resellers can look up real-time price and availability (P&A) for any product carried by Intelligent
Electronics.
"With the P&A feature, our resellers can search for and sort products by manufacturer, category, description, price, or IE
SKU," said Intelligent Electronics CIO Lionel Brown.
In addition, resellers can find out what's in stock, what warehouse it's in, and what's coming. With the click of a button,
resellers can get detailed descriptions of any product.
In conjunction with these enhancements to the site, Intelligent Electronics is also offering its reseller customers free

Customers can also use SmartWeb to generate reports on their business activity with Intelligent Electronics and to check
the status of any order they have placed. Additionally, SmartWeb contains information on Intelligent Electronics programs
and services, phone and e-mail directories for IE associates, press releases, corporate background, links to the Web sites
of many Intelligent Electronics manufacturer-partners, current product promotions, product profiles, associate and reseller
profiles, and information pertinent to resellers who would like to become affiliated with Intelligent Electronics.
The Intelligent Electronics Web site is optimized for Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 or Netscape Navigator 2.02 or newer,
with 3.0 being optimum. A browser is included with the free CompuServe Internet access kit available through Intelligent
Electronics.
