I wish they were lower too, but.....

I wish the fat content was lower too, but as was mentioned, other products are often worse. Even most salad bars end up worse than this once you pile on the cheese and dressing.

These foods are designed to meet federal nutrition guidelines--just like the other breakfasts and lunches served in schools. Sure, the school cafeterias could serve tofu and brown rice, but the kids wouldn't eat it! Dippers are popular because they taste good too.

I'm on the school board in my town, and we are ordered to serve breakfasts. The amount of waste was so high that we stopped offering a menu everyday, and now try to have a few things ala carte. I've ordered a sampler from Dippy and see these as being a potential addition to both the breakfast and lunch menus. If a child doesn't want to eat "Poultry in Motion", then he might grab a Dipper instead.

Dippers are targeted at ages K thru 12. It would not surprise me if the portions are large, and that especially the younger kids will not eat the entire package. That would reduce the percentages of fats as well. We will see.
