Ross, if the Republican Congressional leadership is, as you say, so blind to partisan politics that they would force their own president to resign, why didn't they force President Reagan to resign when it became clear in about 1986 that he was completely out of touch with his adminsistration's day-to-day activities, i.e. Iran/Contra? I'm sure the Congressional Democrats would have gone along with any efforts to remove Reagan.
