Michael D.Burke...response to yesterday's posts.

After reading your posts it appears that you uphold many
fundamental values in judging corporations. As you are
aware this is presently not a popular position towards
the Stock Market that considers little of that. You might
even be labeled.....a "BEAR"!!!

Your prediction that we are heading towards a cliff is correct.
How far away from the edge are we?...Not sure.
How deep is the fall?...Is there a ledge?...Or safety net?...
Not sure.

Will all our stocks correct lower than our initial investment?
Will we meet our long-term investment objectives?

Let me add another concern to your volumes of concerns.
There is wealth, corporations have cash,...the liquidity is
amazing...yet no inflation. (not yet)....hmmm

RE:"IT budgets will be directed away from new buys" -
I also believed this...but revised my view thinking that
the way to fix Y2K for many corporations was to scrap the
old and buy new equipment.

If you are bearish on CPQ, DELL, INTC, etc., I wouldn't
venture to hear your opinion of the internet stocks.

RE:Americans are saving less.....does this include their investments
on Wall Street? The bank savings account used to be a secure
low return investment vehicle. Recently, the economy and feeling
of security has allowed them to shift that investment for a higher
return to the stock market.
This is only a rotation and should be added to the savings number.
