Moynihan already voted to dismiss, of course. I'd certainly caution the Democrats on triumphalism, I think Clinton didn't help himself in the House by getting overconfident. It's not clear that anything would have made any difference, of course, the adulterous papal knight didn't need no stinkin' witnesses there, at least among the principles.

I'm sorry that only my neighbor and Senator Russ Feingold is left as a token poster Democrat for Republicans, but I wouldn't place too much faith in him either. I was talking to my father this weekend, who's actually very down on Clinton, and has expressed anger that Clinton will get away with a crime. (he's not for an impeachment conviction either, but he failed to be reassured by my guarantee that Starr wouldn't forget about Clinton after he left office) He was annoyed with Feingold's vote just on the basis of him losing influence within the Democratic party. Wisconsin has a long tradition of idealistic politicians that fail to play the Washington game, though, which is probably why it ranks dead last in percent of Federal taxes paid coming back into the state.
