What are they doing with the list?

I don't want to speak for them. Even if they were using it to do fund raising and swapping it with their friends I would just find that typical of the world we live in. But let's give them the benefit of the doubt before we group them with Liberal behavior.

Liberals always think its bad if the bad guy sells the list but good if the the good guy does. (Don't expect anything I say to change this.)

I've found that the liberal politicians I know have completely mastered the art of McCarthyism. For example in one local election they used a free email account they obtained on juno.com to send an attack letter to the editor of a local paper to defame a candidate in an election (not me I'm beyond defamation).

They made up the name on the letter so it got published. I believe they accused the candidate of being a liar, not being born in the town etc. etc. (He claimed to be from a 14th generation family.) (See Paul Engel for the specifics of this type of tactic since he seems to be the master.)

My hope is that some corporation with influence in the industry will get on board a secure digital identity along the lines of Digital Me.

Intel really doesn't understand how badly they have blown this one! IT just shows them to be incapable of providing industry leadership again.

And Paul Engel is surely the Intel poster boy of the internet. He's your image to the world.
