Tommy; RE:" Houston, Taxes "

...there ain't no State Taxes in Texas ;-)

But it's hard for me to recommend Texas to a guy who enjoys living close to the water and all that: the Texas coastline is thin, or fouled with refineries.

Houston is a dynamic boom-town, a great place to make money! But there is little else here: the weather is miserable; the culture, save that "at work" is non-existant; and people here are so detached from one another, it is truly difficult for me to think of huge Houston as a real, live "City". Houston is like "The Valley" (Encino) in L.A.

Dallas is even worse. Austin is the place to be, but then you'd be a long way from the coast, Tommy. I just can't see you in the "hill country" around Austin, Tommy - after being on the motor-yacht for so many years.

Howabout San Diego area ? Weather is friggin' perfect; plenty of boat-folks there; the bud's cheap; and all the moto shops are in SoCal (^_^)
