176 (yesterday's high) to 167 5/8 (today's close) in a down market. That is not a beating. That's less than a 5% drop.

AAPL, on the other hand, dropped from 41 15/16 (yesterday's high) to 39 3/16 (today's close), a 6.6% fall from grace.

Of course AAPL reached its high yesterday right out of the gate, while MSFT waited until late in the day, but I give up, too!
