Yo: Go climbing and don't waste more time on this -- but Japanese money has been financing the US markets for a long time, and withdrawals from US accounts will be sorely missed, especially in the bond market. Does it matter? You bet it does. It is not a matter of 'knowing' or not knowing. Look at the uts -- they are factoring it into the market, but the broader stock market is just getting wind of it. As money flows from east to west, look for higher rates and more advisers talking about 'reallocation' from stocks to bonds, even as bond prices go down. As for Au -- it has been a tough to call -- but there is an 8,000 ton short position sitting under the market -- when it gets covered, you want to be on the right side of it.
