<< My response concerned Iraq. Nowhere did I mention Cuba. >>

Do you think that I stay awake at night worrying about sticking to your rules? <g>

OTOH, I guess that people imprisoned on the Island of Cuba, under the loathsome dictator Castro, don't play on your conscience, as long as it doesn't help you politically.

<< The sanctions serve little use, especially if this process takes many years. >>

So do you consider giving Saddam Hussein more money to build nuclear plants and weapons of mass destruction, humanitarian aid? I can't believe that you are so short sighted.

OTOH, Castro has really cut back on spreading misery around the world, because of lack of funds.

One way of fighting terrorism is to cut back on their funds. Your way is to increase their funding. Nice guy!

<< The problem with Iraq is that it could splinter into a number of new nations ... >>

The problem with Iraq is that they may get the abililty to cause mass destruction elsewhere in the world.
