Starr, His Office Accused of New Leaks, Says He Will Investigate nytimes.com

Or to paraphrase Claude Rains in Casablanca, "I'm shocked, shocked! to learn that there have been leaks. Round up the usual suspects!" On the other had, the Drudge advocates around here will be happy to let us all know it was always Clinton operatives leaking everything to Drudge. Just like all the commies in Central America used to dress up as government troops before committing atrocities.

Late this afternoon Starr issued a statement that said: "We are deeply troubled by yesterday's New York Times report. This office has no desire to inject itself into the constitutional process under way in the Senate. We are launching an internal investigation to determine whether anyone in this office improperly disclosed the information to The Times. The announcement of this investigation should not be taken as confirmation of anything in the article."

Right, just like the Clinton haters here were cheering for indictments before they decided it made Starr look bad, at which point it became a White House disinformation leak. Or something. Looks like the normal Washington trial balloon to me, but I have a bad attitude.
