I guess I won't post to you about the Super Bowl between Denver and Atlanta. You're likely to come up with some diatribe about the Edmonton Oilers or the New Jersey Nets or the San Francisco Giants.

One of the rationale for the sanctions was to make it difficult for him to build weapons to threaten his neighbors. With an expanded containment strategy, this rationale makes less sense. There are US strikes on a daily basis.

The US is not putting forth the premise that we're containing Iraq since they're training and funding terrorists. So, your argument doesn't wash. You need to listen very carefully to what the US government stated when it attacked last December.

US has been engaged in a containment strategy since the end of the Gulf War. If they weren't aware of the unintended consequences of a splintered Iraq, they would've taken him out in 1991. Go look up Turkey's news releases about US attacks on Iraq and on Kurdistan.
