JDA Software Names Three New Board Members

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 2, 1999--JDA(R) Software Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: JDAS), an international provider of enterprise retail solutions, announced that three new executives have been named to its Board of Directors effective January 26, 1999. The addition of directors J. Michael Gullard, Stephen A. McConnell and Jock Patton increases JDA's board to a total of six members who will serve in 1999.

Mr. Gullard has extensive hands-on experience in technology companies holding various financial and operational management roles in his 28-year career. He currently serves as General Partner of Cornerstone Management, which provides strategic counsel to technology companies primarily in software and data communications. He also serves as Director and Chairman of Micro Focus Group, which he joined in 1995 to lead the company through strategic positioning and management changes. Since assuming his role, Mr. Gullard has helped increase Micro Focus Group's revenues from $123 million in 1996 to its current run rate of approximately $400 million. Mr. Gullard is also a board member of three private companies and has formerly served on the board of seven high tech companies. He earned a B.A. and M.B.A. from Stanford University.

Mr. McConnell has had a variety of experiences ranging from Wall Street investment banking to running a public company to extensive private investments in the Southwestern United States. He formed Solano Ventures in 1991, which invests in public and private companies primarily in Arizona. He is currently Chairman of G-L Industries, LLC, a Salt Lake City-based manufacturer of wood glu-lam beams used in the construction industry. Arizona business ventures have included several software design firms, high tech manufacturers, construction-related businesses, and financial services. From 1985 to 1991, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of N-W Group, Inc., as this public company restructured itself and made several acquisitions in different industries. Mr. McConnell currently serves on the board of a number of public and private companies. He graduated from Harvard College with a B.A. and M.B.A.

Mr. Patton's distinguished career began in 1972 as partner and director of Streich Lang where he founded and headed the Corporate/Securities Law Practice Group through 1992. In 1982, he became a director and co-owner of StockVal, Inc., an SEC registered investment advisor providing securities analysis software and proprietary data to mutual funds, major money managers and brokerage firms worldwide. Mr. Patton became President in 1992 and sold StockVal in 1997 to Automatic Data Processing. Mr. Patton is currently a trustee of each of the eight Pilgrim mutual funds with aggregate invested assets over $3 billion; director of a Las Vegas-based start up airline; director of Hypercom Corporation; and director of Unison Healthcare Corporation. Mr. Patton has served on the board of a number of public and private companies, including Del E. Webb Corporation and America West Airlines. His education includes undergraduate and law degrees from the University of California.

In addition to Mr. Gullard, Mr. McConnell, and Mr. Patton, JDA's Board consists of James D. Armstrong, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO; Frederick M. Pakis, Co-Chairman and Co-CEO; and Will Keiper, Director.
