TheStreet.com ran a piece by Jim Seymoure on the ATT cable telephony announcement and only listed CSCO and LU as possible supplier beneficiaries. I emailed the following question and received this answer. ( I was just trying to be polite by calling him Mr. )

To: Jim Seymour
Subject: Re: Jim Seymour's 2/1/99 column on Cable Telephony

In his 2/1/99 article, Mr Seymour's list of suppliers who may benefit from ATT's cable telephony plans did not include Tellabs. Is Mr. Seymour familiar with TLAB's Cablespan product or can this be nterpreted as a negative comment on TLAB's chances in this arena?

Thank you.

DMA

David--

Yes, Mr. Seymour tells us he is well familiar with TLAB. But his failure to mention a given security should not be taken as an implicit negative comment on that security's prospects; there's only so much space in a column, and there were probably 40 companies positively affected, directly or indirectly, by the AT&T-TWX deal....
