I thought Spider's identity was well known here ; from my following of this thread, he is frequently referred to as "Gary" and "Boxer guy" and "pugs" -- so I presumed from those threads that he was not particularly worried about identity. However, I did not specifically hear the witness who was speaking about this forum identify himself as "Spider" -- so I am not about to bust his identity, as I would not appreciate his efforts to bust mine.
Spider, if you are out there, and it was you, and it is alright to use your name in this context, let me know. For now, I will omit references to "the witness possibly also known as 'Spider Valdez'" from my report -- it would be more human interest then critical to the case, as I think you would agree.
First, a disclaimer: The order of these events does not reflect the chronological order in the courtroom. My watcher noted impressions in a random order, and relayed them in a random order; this double shuffle ought to have thoroughly confused any sense of time.
Also, my watcher is not a human recorder, nor was interested in any particular aspect of the proceedings (but became more so as the day progressed), so I will report to you what seemed to have transpired without the time wasting phrasing such as "as it was told to me what seemed to have been said was" -- assume this in all cases that follow. I imagine that Jeff or someone will have a transcript soon enough.
I could not speak directly to the watcher, a friend of a friend, and so could not provide even the pieces of background that I have gathered; as a result, Michael Sylver's name was no more or less significant than Sherwood Cook. So, the incomplete list of who was there no doubt omits major players, who were actually there, and lists folks who are of no real interest to you (I don't really have a grasp of the full dramatis personae yet myself).
Some info is better than none, though, neh?
Basic recap: - all parties were represented at least by attorneys except Andy Mann - as a result, a default was entered against Mann as a no-show - no other significant rulings took place today - court was recessed for an hour and a half today so that Landish (attorney for Amazon) could attend to another case (a bankruptcy, probably unrelated) - the judge appeared to be low key and willing to give latitude during the testimony - firebombing and shooting was not discussed, but Janice was mentioned, as was this forum, several times.
So much for this note, more to come...
