Your known dyspepsia pertaining religious matters plus the fact that I am not willing to spend my precious time looking up appropriate words to do battle with a multinational dialectic who is camping on the outer limits of space passing his time investigating sucking motions of "dark suckers"-forces me to take a rain check on that one.
Grüße Herr Blinker,
A fine choice of action, which perhaps elevates your image in my eyes. To what level? only time will tell, but certainly above of those who sell snake oil disguised in colorful booklets containing the stories of mystical deities of sundry denominations. I salute your effort.
As for the "dark suckers"; an interesting thesis, that it is only equaled in its incredibility by the phenomenal bed-time stories of the above mentioned snake oil promoters. The only difference is that my stories do not threaten you with sending you to the proverbial and eternal inferno if you happen not to believe in them. I will oblige in your request and give you the requested "rain check".
And as for "spending time"... worry not Herr Blinker, the stuff emanates from my brain quite easily, I do not even make an effort, I do not know if that is a benefit.... or a disease. True the Internet does assist me tremendously by picking up ideas here and there, but the final product flows like water. The real problem is, I do not type as fast as my brain comes up with all this prose.
Reading your remarks from time to time, you seem frustrated about the slow progress Hispanics are making to get in the wheelhouse of political power? Show those with the Republicans unsatisfied how good your people are in the political ring. Get that Republican from Texas away from the political stage! The very man who short sells his own country to the rest of the world every time he opens his forked tonged mouth. Plenty of votes can be harvested for that there.
Preference for Hispanics...? Not I, Herr Blinker, you misunderstand me. My frustration is with Politicos at large, of all stripes and colors. Their sin is to be a politician, not because they may be of a specific breed. Imagine disliking pigs, because they are pigs, not because they smell.
Please do not misinterpret me as I am really meaning politicians, nothing else. Yes I know that the subject of pigs has been brought up between you and I. However, I assure you in this instance, it is a simple accident as pigs is the first thought I create when I think about politicians. True not very becoming of me, but at least I am honest, and that's more one can say than that of politicians.
You see, it is the quality of the grapes and how you make the wine that determines its character, not the color of the grape. You can have an excellent Champagne, made with red grapes, (Pinot Noir, and sometimes, Meunier) and an equally excellent one, made with white grapes. (Pinot Chardonnay) The excellent Riesling wine from the Rheingau region, (between Wiesbaden and Bingen), can only be made with the Johanisberg Riesling as its main grape, (80%), a white grape. (In addition, the grapes Müller-Thurgau, Spätburgunder, Ehrenfelser, and Kerner, make up the balance of the blend, to produce the great German wine. Likewise, the Great red Burgundy wines can only be made with Pinot Noir, a red grape. (Beaujolais, Jura, and Savoie, regions, excepted).
Please note the word "excellent" and "great". Both wines are of different regions, grapes, and styles. Yet, BOTH are excellent and great wines.
In the case of Champagne, (and other wines), the quality of the grape, the conditions under which it grows and how is vinified determines if the grower declares a "vintage", or not.
Likewise, with humans, I care not where they come from or their outside characteristics. What gives them value, what matters is their character, their work ethics, and their ability to use reason and be productive individuals. Their "ethnic background" is secondary, my interest in that department, is mainly to learn whatever good and interesting customs and culture they may have.
My bringing up the growth of the Spanish population in the US, (both in numbers and in use of Language), was merely to point out to certain individual that such detail, is a fact not to be ignored. Both, in politics and in business matters. No more, no less.
If it was up to me, I would get rid of all politicos, regardless of their nomination, flavor, color, etc. However, I have been advised by many that even Bozos need employment, so, I am resigned to grudgingly accept their existence, provided that is, that they do not get out of the confines of the corral containing the absurd.
Luckily, I am not a politician. Upon learning of such fact, someone once told me that it was a good thing that mother nature did not give wings to scorpions. (or for that matter to cows.... imagine running for cover while cows were flying and suddenly they had an urge to... well, never mind, I am sure you can imagine....) Unfortunately, from time to time, as we have witnessed the history of humans, these characters and their cousins the bishops, (the ones with the pointy hats), do get out of control and create great havoc, many times actually quite destructive.
It is the individual who works hard and produces that really makes things happen, the industrialist, the engineer, the scientist, the creator, the businessman. They all submit to the final judge, the public market where common sense, honesty and decency, in all probability, will determine the winner. In other words, the trader that is able to come to market and offer what the markets wants, a fair exchange of value for value.
Remember that we all are the market. Regardless of where you come from. And yes, the Internet is making such scenario a more vivid reality.
The day is nearing closer, when governments will see their subjects, (i.e. the people), more as clients to be catered to, and not as mere suckers, (i.e. taxpayers), from whom to steal.
A simple example: if it was not for the Internet, what would be the possibilities that you and I would be exchanging our respective thoughts ? Answer = None. Not that this particular exchange will solve anything.... after all, we, in reality, are simply mere vassals that are participating in well... Thread Morons... that is kind of telling don't you think ?
But in time, these exchanges will become more prevalent and significant to the point where real valuable information will be shared throughout the globe at lightening speed and will make "leaders" less prone to be tyrannical, since their ills and snake oil will be easily exposed.
At least I would like to think so.
As for Teflon Bill... well, what can I say, I guess what I have already said, I am no admirer of the man, but I must admit that he is one of the best politicians, (remember that my opinion of politicos is not very high). Why are we surprised we have such bunch of desperados as "leaders"...? We, collectively are to be blamed, because in reality do not give a damn, therefore these guys, if you let them, they will attempt to get away with whatever they can.
And by the same token, as I have also said already, under the current alternative offered by the "other party", I will chose the sex maniac, before being put under the boot of the rabid inquisitors reminiscent of the good ole' days of the "Garrote Vil".

I am sick to my last bone watching always the same heads on TV in particular all those womens with their Jane Fonda sticks engaging over and over in the same mindless babble. A icy shower from the watercannons with modest kicks to their buttocks would do this shower of hens a world of good.
TV...? a waste of time, you and I know that these guys are catering to the masses whose brains are either non-existent, or fried by the first effort they ever had in thinking. Turn it off! or use it as decorative furniture, remember that the statisticians, (at the request of economists), like to count number of TV's, refrigerators, and the like, as a sign if the particular country is advancing towards the "first world". (i.e. Civilized ?).
"Civilization" is a concept invented by man, therefore, in its origin it is flawed, as the religious orders love to say... "it has an original sin".
That is to say, if civilization is founded on ideas, (amongst other), based on the creation of nations, flags, and the like for the purpose to dominate those who identify with such specific "team colors", and in turn, attempt to go and conquer the neighbor, (bashing their heads in, while doing it), because he is from a different team.... well... I would say we need to improve on the idea. In other words, we need to re-create what the concept of "civilized" is.
To what level is this world sinking when even students sit in front of computer displays instead of causing some troubles on the streets?
Shadow boxing on the internet?
Ah, perhaps it is not that bad, at least they may be learning to spell, write and think.... it is better than watching TV, or smashing windows under the pretense of "civic protest"... and even a greater benefit, away from certain Zombitronic indoctrination spending a perfectly beautiful Sundays in some evil church listening to parrots with pointy hats. Then again, who knows, they could be having cyber-orgasms or the like. I would like to bet on the side of the optimist and think that the mere exchange of ideas, as idiotic as they may be... (ahem, excluding the current one, of course), in the end, it will be the Genesis of a thinking process, where said student develops some knowledge from cyber-wisdom, or better.
To be able to read in " between the lines " of a poster who assumes to be protected by anonymity gives you the edge to determine what type of liar or misfit he or she is. Sooner before later.
In time, we all develop a certain ability to determine if such poster is genuine or merely postulating some idiotic lie. I would assume that the object of these boards is to exchange information on specific companies. However, common sense dictates to me that these boards are not to be trusted first hand, slowly one learns who to trust, with what, and to what extent. After all, how to invest is always adjusted to one's own objectives. In all cases, once again, common sense and basic investment principles must be applied before anybody pays attention to any SI board. Knowledge can not be substituted with "luck" or lame excuses, such as: "I bought because some evil poster said x".
You see, the unbelievable world of the bulletin board stock market is absolute and final proof that the so called "investor" derives thought from imbecility. For two basic reasons, (to make it simple).
1. Investing carries enormous risk, reducing risk ought to be a primary objectivity of the investing activity, therefore, exposing funds to "starting companies" should be left to those who can afford such risk. Hardly the profile of the SI participant, possibly of the entire bb market.
2. Most companies in this "brave world", are "non-reporting", that is they do not tell the SEC what they are up to. Imagine if under a regulated environment, the bad guys STILL attempt to cheat... now take a wild guess how many will do it under a less stringent environment. Frankly, as I have said before, I have no idea what the SEC is thinking in allowing such companies to do business, under the non-reporting environment.
If you can tell me with a straight face that you can understand a painting by Salvador Dalí, then I may believe you that the penny stock market makes sense to you.
Therefore, in reading these illustrious SI boards, this must be done with the premise that everyone is a liar, until proven otherwise. That is regardless of what profile and/or name you chose to publish.
For all I know, "Eddy Blinker" could be a handle created by an inmate in some asylum in Northern Transylvania, who thinks himself as a vampire, and considers Latino blood to be somehow more tasty, (due to spicy food), than non-Latino, and you are befriending me with the sole purpose of sucking me dry... Just kidding.... ( I know you do not like friends like me..., but may be you are a vampire hehehehehe...)
You may be seriously interested in dark suckers and I may be interested in finding SI members who are first class liars so that I may educate myself and pass my findings on to my children who happen to listen to me.
Never discount the value of good entertainment, I confess that SI has given me that much. Many, many laughs, and more. Actually in some instances, it becomes like a "psychotic-meter" and gives me a window through which I peek, with amazement, as to how some people actually think and make decisions. imagine it as a "market psychology indicator".
In addition, it reminds me of the value of laughter, after all... it is only money and life is too short not to enjoy it. I believe that laughter is actually healthy for you, incredibly SI, at times, provides a good dose of such medicine.
I am sure you have learned, and as laudable intent you have to pass on your findings to the next generation, you must remember that it is always one's own efforts that will yield success. As an Olympic runner gives the baton to the next relay, the best you can do is what you are doing, pass your finding to those who will listen, but in the end it will be the efforts of the new runner in line that will give said runner success.
I wish I had someone tell me a year ago what I assume to know today.
Ah... Don't we all wish for such real guardian "angel", (el santo patrón, as it is referred to in Spanish), but think of it as a hard earned lesson, those are the ones best learned and never forgotten, indeed a valuable asset, almost like "intellectual property", don't you agree ?
Sincerity?
I drink to that. Water for the dog and schnapps for me, please.
I could not agree more with such statement. In the Jungles of Latin America there is an expression that reads:
"Si el agua destruye los caminos, imagina lo que le hace a los intestinos."
While a little is lost in its translation, (particularly because it rhymes in Spanish), the general concept, I believe is kept. This referring to drinking wine before water. it translates as:
"If water destroys roads, imagine what to the intestine it does!"
Yes, I know, I committed English sentence structure assassination.... in order to make it rhyme.
And so, with that in mind, I will say to you Herr Blinker, Salúd to you, make mine a glass of Richebourg.
Doroteo Arango,
aka Pancho Villa.
Viva la Robolución.
p.s. what's my point? for those who ask. None, just responding to the man, no more no less. Besides, communication is the start.... let's see where this leads to.
p.s.s. My condolences to the ground hog family, as the thing died today... no doubt another victim of the weather phenomenon of"El Niño... Yet again, another evil influence from Latinos upon the land of the stars and stripes. <g> |
