Finder--

I think we have a slightly different problem, one that several have alluded to in the past few days. Many contributors have an understanding of the technical issues involved in the x2/56KPlus controversy that goes well beyond that of the average trader. The rest of us have read what they've offered, read all of the press releases, kept up with the company info--all over a period of months.

I don't think we're wrong to believe that 1) there will be great demand for 56k technology; 2) x2 is the better solution; and 3) that it will be available to more people sooner than will 56KPlus.

Standards: an open question. Will large numbers of people be dissuaded from buying USRX products (and ROK products as well) because they're afraid they'll become obsolete once standards are finally adopted? Nobody's got the answer, but my guess is no: not if their ISPs tell 'em it's all right.

But being better informed about a company and its products than most doesn't always help. Evidently this morning's IBD article was written by someone who doesn't really understand the story, but probably 90% of the people who read it won't know that. We may well be absolutely right, but being right rarely moves markets short term, and we need to bear that in mind.

What'll happen next? Got me.

Janice
