Oppenheimer Upgrade Report!! by: telstarjohn 1061 of 1061 Just got the Oppenheimer Upgrade Report. It was released on Jan. 29, when Zoran was at $15 per share. Some excerpts: "In our opinion Zoran is the BEST PURE PLAY in the important and evolving consumer audio and video segments. We believe investors are beginning to seek out such opportunities and are willing to PAY A PREMIUM for companies like ZORAN." "The DVD and Digital Still Camera (DSC) markets are taking off and driving revenue growths for Zoran ahead of our previous expectations." "We believe Zoran's Camera on a Chip (COACH) product, should see significant design wins in 1st half of 1999 and material revenues in 2nd half of 1999." DVD design wins: 9 Design wins in Q4, 6 design wins in Q3 "Emerging digital technologies rely on compression and Zoran is a leading supplier of Compression Technology." They LOVE the TOSHIBA relationship, especially since they own 20% of the DVD market WORLDWIDE and 30%+ of the U.S. market! Toshiba S3108 model is the #1 selling DVD player in the U.S. and they use Zoran's Vaddis chip. FY99 raised to $0.55 from $0.43. FY00 raised to $1.12 Lots more information available (6 pages) if you can all get a copy of the report. Bottom line; I was going to trim my position yesterday since my average buy in is pretty low. But when I got this report, I cancelled that idea and won't touch any shares until $30. I'll than take my principle off the table and let it ride! IMO, DVD could become the next Internet type play once the buying panic simmers down for anything (.Com).
