Quadrax at the PGA Merchandise Show
National Long Drive Champion to Represent Company
PORTSMOUTH, R.I., Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Quadrax Corp Chairman and Chief Executive, James J. Palermo, commenting on the Company's recent exhibit at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, said, "This was the first time we unveiled our full line of new Thermo-Plastic(TM) golf shafts and the results were very encouraging. We received confirmation from club manufacturers of what we had learned through our own extensive testing of the shafts, namely, that the Thermo-Plastic(TM) golf shaft was the most accurate shaft they had used and that it had the best feel of any shaft on the market. The shaft has been tested mechanically as well as by professional and amateur golfers, and we're shipping them to a number of club manufacturers. We aren't permitted to identify the club manufacturers, since they're now in the process of formulating their marketing programs for the new shafts. We also received a re-order from Golfsmith International, who is the exclusive distributor of the Thermo-Plastic(TM) golf shaft to the custom club market."
The Company also announced that Darryl Anderson, the 1994 United States Open Long Drive champion, has been engaged by Quadrax to promote the Thermo- Plastic(TM) golf shaft. Mr. Palermo said, "Darryl approached us at the PGA Show and asked to test the shaft at a practice range using a number of different golf club heads from leading manufacturers. Afterwards, Darryl said that he had 'always hit the ball far' but that using the Thermo-Plastic(TM) golf shaft improved his accuracy 'beyond my wildest expectations.' Darryl will be representing Quadrax this year on the Power Long Drive Tour (PLTD) and at various exhibitions throughout the country. We continue to be optimistic about the prospects for our products in the $400-plus million market for golf shafts and believe we will experience continual commercial acceptance as the compelling qualities of this technology become more recognized."
