I read the story, and, as usual, the Times spun the poll. Yes, the GOP has taken a hit. But 67% favor some form of punishment for the President, about half of those favoring censure, about a quarter favoring removal,and about a quarter favoring resignation, so support for Bill is ambiguous at best. The question about approval of the Senate's handling of the matter neglected to ask the grounds of criticism. Since plenty of Republicans think the Senate is whitewashing the matter, disapproval could break either way. Both parties have taken hits on this, and if you factor in the standard margin of error, the difference is negligible, a few points. I will not repeat other recent posts, you get the drift. |
