LEOPARDUS RESOURCES LTD. VSE SYMBOL: LEP OTC Bulletin Board SYMBOL: LPDUF FEBRUARY 4, 1997 Leopardus Resources Initial Results from the 1996 Seismic Program on the Buzi-Divinhe Block in Mozambique VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--Leopardus Resources Limited ("Leopardus" or the "Company") has been informed by its co-venturer, Scimitar Hydrocarbons Corporation ("Scimitar"), that initial review of data from the extensive 2-D vibroseis program conducted on the Buzi-Divinhe Block in Mozambique during the latter part of 1996 has confirmed numerous robust leads and prospects within the thick Lower Grudja formation sand sequences that are widely distributed over the block. The data indicates high potential for multiple gas-bearing zones and stacked pays throughout much of the program area. Reconnaissance seismic lines that were acquired by Scimitar as part of the program indicate that the prospective hydrocarbon-bearing fairway extends into the western half of the block, thus significantly expanding the area available for future gas exploration and development. Detailed technical work is currently being completed by Scimitar in preparation for finalizing the proposed 1997 field work program. This work plan will be discussed in technical meeting to be held in Calgary, Alberta during February, 1997 between representatives of Leopardus, Scimitar, the Mozambican national petroleum company, Empresa Nacional de Hyrdocarbonetos de Mozambique ("ENH") and the Mozambican Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Leopardus Resources Limited is an international oil and gas exploration and development company. As part of its ongoing activities, the Company is participating with major industry partners in developing the resources and infrastructure necessary to serve the natural gas markets in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
