If the % of Americans that are now in denial has any correlation to the % of Americans that will be paralyzed by their own fears unable to function in the workplace should any semblance of Teotwawki emerge we have trouble.
In of itself that,will make the Teotwawki forecast self fullfilling.The issues of interconnectivity muddy the scenario.I defy anyone Pollyandy or Doombrooder to say they understand
all the relationships. They are beyond any single persons ability to comprehend.
There are so many if's that could be the trigger to panic.If the market crashes.If bank runs start. If there is a major corporate IT
failure.If there is a missle launch.If Sadam.If North Korea.If terrorists.If the power.If the telephones.If martial law.
Some of the if's are political,some are y2k,some are business decisions already made,some are governmental ours and foreign.I can't predict any better than the rest of you but it seems to me that
the whole situation has taken on a complexity greater than y2k,and to
not consider the political and economic and psychological factors could be suicidal.I do know that neither the banking system nor the food distribution could handle more than a few per cent of our population making withdrawals or purchases.Somebody is going to lose,will it be you?
Some of the if's will happen!Which ones and what sequence will determine our fates. To the extent we have not prepared we will only have ourselves to blame.Even if the chance is .0001 I don't want to he ar the words "Daddy I'm Hungry"Do you?I'd rather take anything not used down to "Father Fred's" and tell him;here Father take these supplies for the disadvantaged.Silly ol me,I was one of those y2k nuts.Saved for my family,didn't use it all; so we would like to share
our blessings.
