Why doesn't Novell take a chance to hype itself more?

In the previous post this appeared to be what the Wall Street sharks wanted. Make the claim. Whomp Ikatomi.

Well for one thing, Novell has to learn to compete with other companies again. Having had the Wordperfect beat out of it by the competition, it doesn't ever want to come across as a direct challenger of anyone's product --- for fear it might get beaten again.
Not a good corporate attitude but understandable.

That is where a hot product comes in. You get a hot product and you don't have to beat anybody because you are the company to beat.

Enter Digital Me. Introduce a hot product (with all the pieces in place such as an arrangement with AMEX etc.) and you get some real attention. Not just the Wall St. sharks looking for somemore momentum meat.
