There's an article in the New York Times about the public's displeasure with the Republican Party:
"Most Americans now condemn the Senate ... as much as they did the House, and Republicans are taking most of the blame ..."
"Much of the public views the entire matter in both chambers as more a Republican drive to undermine President Clinton than an honest investigation of possibly serious crimes"
The arrogant Republicans can keep saying how unimportant the American People are compared to their political cause, but, hopefully, they will learn their lesson in the 2000 elections.

Besides the abortion issue, the judge issue is one of the main reasons for the attacks on Clinton, including the Paula Jones civil case, IMHO. But, the Republicans may have shot their radical agenda in the foot by disrespecting the voting public. They may win the White House in 2000, but if they lose the Congress, the Republican Party will be prevented from putting radical, fundamentalist judges into office.

Same here. It's refreshing to find someone else on this thread that has any concerns for anyone but themselves. This is one of the most selfish and nasty threads I've read.

Agree. But what a paradox! President Clinton gets caught with his pants down in the White House, and then Gingrich loses his job, Livingston loses his job, and then the Republicans might lose big in the 2000 elections because of it! I LOVE IT!
