You're still paying for lung disease due to secondhand smoke. I'm not against a tobacco tax. The feds have been pocketing it for other programs. You also can't predicate new programs based on the higher tobacco tax since the demand for the products may abate. It's not sound administration to create new entitlements that are difficult to eliminate even if the source of funding is greatly diminished. History shows the entitlements to grow much faster than just about everything else.
