That's exactly the way I look at it. I only buy small amounts of out of the money calls in great stocks that I believe will have incredible run ups - unique opportunities that don't come along too often.

I bought 7 dlqbq contracts (February 85 calls) on 12/28/98 when dell was in the mid 70's. Paid $3/sh. premium, and they're currently trading at 24 7/8. I bought 7dlqbr contracts (February 90 calls) on 1/22/99 for 3 1/4 and they're at 20. I'm hanging on to both of them until earnings are reported, and hope to have a pair of 10 baggers by then.

My calls are just a little spice for the main course, which is DELL, of course <g>. I don't think I'll make a practice out of buying derivatives, but it's fun to hit a jackpot once in a while. <vbg>
