Management has recently reviewed the geophysical, geochemical and drilling data available on the company's Indian Ranch project. Several uplifted blocks of lower plate limestones have been identified on the property within the central core of the Battle Mountain Eureka gold trend. A four-hole reverse circulation program has been designed to test high-priority targets within the notice of intent permit restrictions. Drilling is expected to commence in mid-February 1999. A plan of operations has been submitted to the Nevada Bureau of Land Management covering the application for an additional 40 drill hole sites.
The Indian Ranch property, comprising 607 claims totalling 12,140 acres, is 15 miles southeast of the Gold Acres-Cortez window which hosts approximately 14 million economically recoverable ounces of gold in the Pipeline/South Pipeline deposits. Previously mined deposits located in this window include the Gold Acres and Cortez deposits which produced 2 million ounces of gold in total. Chapleau Resources is earning a 50 per cent interest in the property for exploration expenditures totalling $1.5-million (U.S.) and payments totalling $500,000 (U.S.).
