Hey Fred!!! Its a ZIVA in there!!!! I just came from the Mac Store in town, and asked the sales guy to open up the new G3 with DVD, which they were just taking their first one out of the box. I asked where the DVD card was, and naturally he was without a clue. After not seeing any sign of CUBE while searching the whole thing for 10 minutes, I noticed a daughter card plugged into the ATI Rage graphics card. There was silicon BETWEEN the 2 cards, making it impossible to see what it was. So, I asked the salesguy to pry the daughter card apart from the ATI Rage card (coulda used a farking screwdriver for that!), and viola: ZIVA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, the side door opened as easily as opening a cupboard door, piece of cake.
So, the new mac G3's with DVD use CUBE, and the DVD daughter card is plugged into the ATI Rage graphics card. I hope this is useful info for all you brainiacs!!!!!! Tim
