Spoke to several people at 3COM just minutes ago about their opinion on the stock drop....they told me only one thing...business is booming. Techdata revenues may slow down but that has nothing to do with 3COM products. Techdata is losing marketshare to its competitors. They also indicated that internal rumours among management staff have been circulating since last November that 3COM will be bought out by Sun Microsystems who is looking to compete in the home networking market as well as in the networking arena. Another suitor mentioned is Seimens AG. "...these rumours have been growing stronger since Bay and ASND have been taken out and there is very little doubt it will happen sooner than later...".
