DiVit,

This is AC-97 codec business. Companies
like Analog Devices, SigmaTel, TriTech
are doing these devices.

It basically is a combination
of ADC and DAC with interface logic.

ESS makes its own AC-97 codecs but also
DC-97 audio chips. In a sense, the Scots could
be a partner to ESS if ESS chooses to or Scots will
compete on the AC-97 codec business with everyone
else that includes ESS.
