Hello, my old friend. I'm still here, but I seldom follow the AGTI thread anymore. I decided to check things out because of the recent AGTI rollercoaster ride and, golly, the thread is....well...ummm....very vocal these days. I would say its time to restore a little harmony and pull oars in the same direction.
For the benefit of so many newbies to AGTI, I've been a long time shareholder and was once an unabashed supporter of the company. If you look at old posts you'll see what I mean. Like some of you today, I got into a few real wildcat skirmishes here on SI and defended against AGTI naysayers with a spirit of unwavering loyalty to my investment. I can tell you very honestly that I never posted anything I didn't believe myself. One cannot sell one's soul for a few pieces of gold. At least, not me. If there's no integrity, there's no deal. I stopped posting when I felt that we had been betrayed and misled by AGTI, costing me more money than you can imagine. Also, a poster appeared (tgs59) and began to post factual criticizm of AGTI here on this thread, acknowledging from the beginning that he was a distributor for one of AGTI's competitors. He and I first sparred rationally with one another; several other threadmembers scorned him mercilessly for many months because of the competitive angle. My thick skull finally realized that tgs59 only spoke the truth, competitor or not, so I stopped posting.
End of history lesson.
I wish I could provide some sort of meaningful insight into the recent trading activity on AGTI, but all I can do is speculate. It certainly looks like someone could be manipulating the stock, hyping it up and then shorting it down. I always thought that BB's could not be shorted, but someone informed me long ago that MM's CAN short OTC stocks. It was recently posted here that OTC's can also be shorted legally in Canada, but I have no first hand experience so I have no opinion on that prospect.
Another possibility is that, with the scheduled hearing last week, there was a wave of speculation regarding the company's plan of reorganization. Buyout, perhaps? Then the momentum players took notice, began to jump on board and...voila!! Now a continuance has been granted, the momentum folks are moving on to greener pastures and the stock is tanking again. It's possible that insiders could have planted the initial seeds which began this cycle of events.
As I posted once before, I'm still long AGTI, but not nearly as long as I was 12 months ago. Last year's reverse split took care of that, followed by a sale which was forced due to the 3Q98 market conditions and ensuing margin calls on other issues. I suggest to all that caution is to be advised and beware the rumor mill. A ton of overhead resistance exists due to the recent sub-penny prices. I truly hope that AGTI succeeds in some way and that the stock will soar, and I hope that none of my old AGTI friends feel abandoned by my candor.
One last thing. Susie: if you're really who and what you profess to be, then I'm sorry you somehow got off on the wrong foot. Time to forget it and move forward. But if you're NOT who and what you profess to be, shame on you.
Best Regards, Hardrocker |
