Do you think the 65-7 % that give Clinton a positive approval rating don't much care if he's removed? It's true about the relative strength of the strong thirds. It may be true that the middle third doesn't want him removed, but doesn't much care either. I used to put myself in that third, in principle, after the Nov. elections. But the middle third is apparently somewhat against the Republican handling of the affair, seemingly more so over time. You can believe they're fickle and will forget about it in a month, or a year. After the whole 6+ year process of preaching Clinton hatred incessantly, I wonder. Not that you have any strong feelings on the matter, eh, Neocon?
I think adding the censure sentiment to the conviction/resign sentiment here is a bit like '72, where in the Democratic primaries certain pundits added McGovern + Wallace votes to get a total "protest" vote. Send them a message! Or, if you prefer, it's like adding up Republican + leaning Republican + leaning Democrat, versus Democrat, in a regular poll. |
