Question re multiple accounts

My assumption has been that if I apply strict FIFO, if I buy a security in account A, then in account B, then sell the security in account B, I should apply the first purchase price (from account A) (and obviuosly the purchase price from account B the second time I
sell).

Is this the correct way to account, or does FIFO only work within one particular account?

Any help appreciated.
