Stefan, The reason I think MM's have been accumulating ONPT is that I have watched the trading very closely all day long. Using a Quote service that provides the number of trades and the size on that last trade, what I have seen is that most of the trades were at the bid price, thus I "assume" that the MM's have been buying more than selling.
As far as the earnings numbers , I think that the size of earnings will be less important than the fact that they have been profitable for three consecutive quarters. Remember, this company was considered to be going down for the count for the last year. Of course the larger the number the better.
As far as the theoretical models----you just went way over my head--I'm just a small investor sitting at my computer.
