Michael,
You couldn't be more right. The corporate systems departments can't afford to take a chance on BORL standing alone. But with ORCL signing on, it means instant credibility -- these guys trust BORL with their reputation, and the IS community trusts ORCL with its reputation. I can't think of better news for BORL stockholders. Am still concerned about release dates, however.

I am pleased this announcement covers C++ also. I'm not sure how quickly commercial developers are jumping on the Java bandwagon (I know, there's lots of talk, but I don't know how much actual development is occurring). At any rate, we KNOW C/C++ are in heavy use in the commercial development community.

I can't help but refer to the price chart for BORL after its release of Delphi -- a move from 6 to 21. Now is surely not ALL attributable to Delphi -- but the potential market for C++ builder is AT LEAST 10 times that of Delphi, and may be many times greater than that. The upside potential here may actually be as great or greater than we've all figured!
