The explanation you've been waiting for:

Smod has a history of not responding to rumors, something that plays into the hands of market players when the company is in its quiet period.

If you've followed the stock for some time, this pattern is familiar. The most memorable was in the July timeframe when the stock had languished in mid teens and then fell to 12. Explanations were unavailable, rumors rampant and longs were very concerned. Then some positive posts appeared on several boards from nowhere and preceded the Robinson Stephens upgrade that kicked it to 17 in one day!

There was a turn today on the Yhoo thread. After numerous posts of missing earnings, insiders selling (even buying puts!), new posters revealed that they were close to the company and that they were going to beat earnings by .02 and announce some very positive news with Dell. The volume was low today, indicating the selling pressure may have waned, and there was a very manipulated runup at the close to finish at the high of the day. My experience tells me that we are about to see the rebound that is long overdue. Look for gap ups, late day buying or a mention by an analyst. There is a large short position who will likely want to hedge some of their gains over the last two weeks, and protect themselves going into earnings. Time to get aggressive.
