Novell revs NetWare, releases NDS for Solaris

By Scott Berinato, PC Week Online

Novell Inc. on Wednesday released the shipping version
of Novell Directory Services for Solaris 2.0 and
announced availability of Support Pack 1 for NetWare 5.0.

The Solaris application further distinguishes NDS as a strategic product separate from the Provo, Utah, company's network operating system. While NetWare is the OS for which NDS was built, the growing prominence of the directory as a key management application has led users to want to apply it to multiple operating systems. Novell recently introduced NDS for Windows NT version 2.0.
